Bilingual English Spanish Front Office Receptionist

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Kidney Health Center is seeking a customer oriented front desk receptionist for our busy nephrology practice.  The front desk receptionist greets patients; schedules appointments; maintains records and accounts, and provides information, services and assistance. A significant amount of the receptionist time is spent on the phone with patients and proper phone etiquite is a high priority.  Prior experience in a physician office is required for this position.  Postion will be two to three days a week.

REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Applies planning, implementation and intervention to meet individual patient and facility needs. Follows all patient specific and facility level policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; recording medical history; confirming purpose of visit.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.

  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.

  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.

  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.

  • Maintains patient accounts and obtains revenue by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; controlling credit extended to patients; filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential
  • Schedules lab tests in accordance with lab tech presence at the facility
  • Complete insurance prior authorizations for patient visits and procedures.
  • Maintains training on computer systems, EMRs and other office software/hardware.  
  • Assists in the orientation of new personnel to the office.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
  • Prior front desk experience in physician office preferred.
  • Must have strong desire to provide quality patient care.

  • Strong clinical and leadership skills
  • Ability to organize and establish priorities to perform assigned duties in an effective and  efficient manner
  • Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English & Spanish
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Ability to use reasonable care in carrying out verbal and written instruction.
