Orbis Surgery Center is seeking a nurse manager for our growing vascular surgery center. Your main location will be at 1050 Gemini St, Clear Lake, TX. The other location is in the med center at 7015 Almeda Rd, Houston, TX.
Job Description
The Nurse Manager has direct oversight of the daily clinical operations and supervision of the clinical team within the ambulatory surgery center. This leadership role reports directly to the director of operations for the facility. The manager will be in charge of scheduling, staff development, and the management of clinical inventory and budgets.
Responsibilities
- Direct and develop clinical staff by creating schedules, offering advice, and answering any patient related questions. Acts as a resource for staff.
- Manage clinical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Oversee clinical staffing and regularly perform efficiency analysis to ensure staffing levels are cost-effective and appropriate for quality patient care.
- Communicate with clinical team consistently and efficiently to build strong teamwork in the department.
- In conjunction with the practice leadership, department supervisors, and HR manager, recruit, hire, orient, train, evaluate, and mentor staff. Must write performance evaluations, recommend merit increases and promotions, provide frequent constructive feedback, document performance issues, and recommends disciplinary action as necessary.
- Create and maintains an environment of continuous quality improvement. Collaborate with the Quality and Patient Safety Director to direct, oversee, plan, coordinate, and evaluate a comprehensive program to improve clinical outcomes, enhance value, and minimize patient harm.
- Works with team leads to improve the quality of care through collection, analysis, and use of data.
- Enforce adherence to the state board of nursing and state nurse practice requirements.
- Adopt and implement innovative clinical practices to improve our facility.
- Assist with budget development and inventory tracking to support cost reduction efforts.
- Anticipates the need for and manages change in the clinical areas. Participates in evaluation, standardization, and implementation of cost-effective and efficient clinical workflows.
- In conjunction with practice leadership, sets and maintains standards of patient care.
- In conjunction with practice leadership, develop and implement patient care policies, procedures, protocols, and goals. Develop clinical competencies and ensure that staff achieves them.
- Interpret, implement, and ensure compliance of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations for staff, patients, and the public, including HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, AAAHC, and infection control.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Current RN license required, BSN preferred.

Three years of professional nursing experience with one year of supervisory experience in direct patient care activities.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.

Knowledge of all aspects of ASC clinical operations as it relates to patient safety and quality, as well as familiarity with infection control, risk management, and regulatory affairs.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and administrative skills to deal effectively with all staff, the public, and agencies and entities involved in this area.
